What is a tooth crown?
If you are suffering from pain from one or more of your teeth, there's a good chance that you need a root canal. The pain comes when a dental pulp (nerve) is traumatized, diseased or dead.
When might you need a crown?
- Your teeth are broken
- You have a root canal
- You have a large filling in your teeth
- Your tooth is badly stained, out of line or not the right shape
What are the benefits of a crown?
- The crown will look significantly better than the problem tooth
- The new crown is very strong
- Crowns can be used to support bridgework that replaces missing teeth adjacent to the crowned teeth.
